Throwing in the Towel. Goodness gracious, who would've thought that making inventory for a craft fair could be so all-consuming and dreadful? I never meant for this craft fair to make rubber stamping the bane of my existence. After all, I'm supposed to be enjoying this. It's one of my many hobbies -- one that I really enjoyed doing, until I put undue pressure on myself to create an unrealistic amount of inventory for sale.
Working 40 hours a week (at a job I thoroughly enjoy), then doing my business (no, it's not Amway), then trying to mass produce handmade rubber stamped items for the past several weeks has left me feeling pretty burnt out. After about four hours of stamping this afternoon, I finally decided to throw in the towel. I have relegated myself to settling with the small inventory that I have made thus far. My mind needs to rest. It's been so hectic that I've been dreaming about rubber stamping every night for the week.
Besides, who's to say that anyone will buy my stuff anyway? What if I'm breaking my back and busting my butt to make all of this stuff and no one wants it? Gee, that would be really disappointing, I tell you. I might as well quit while I'm ahead -- while I still enjoy rubber stamping. If I keep this up, I might find myself not only selling my paper crafts at the Craft Fair, but also selling all of my rubber stamps, inks, pens, and embossing powders while I'm at it.
Well, I'll let you know how the Craft Fair goes. If I can at least make back the $33 that I have to shell out for my portion of the booth, I'll be happy.

Ali'i by Association. Traveling with Arnold is always a good thing. Recently, he earned enough frequent flyer miles to grant him Ali`i Club Status in Aloha Airlines. Being an Ali`i member entitles you not only to the benefits of an Executive Club member (pre-boarding, access to the Aloha Airlines lounge, and priority handling of baggage) but you also have the chance of being upgraded to first class if seats are available. Is this your daughter? Shari and I made it down to our first midweek service tonight. It was a quaint little gathering of about a dozen folks (and their kids) who really love the Lord. [more]

Easter Recap. Finally found the time to take a breather and upload an entry for Easter Sunday, complete with photos from the event. Shari joined my family and I for the Easter celebration. As always, it was nice spending some time with my calabash sister!
