New design almost ready to be unveiled. I worked tirelessly today on redesigning my page and I think the new design captures my personality so much better than my current template. However, before publishing it, I have to work out a few things with the navigation and think about how I can incorporate the blog into the design. I'm pretty stoked... at least I was able to get some creative juices flowing in the right direction.

BBS Flashbacks. I logged on to a BBS tonight. A text-based BBS via HyperTerminal in the year 2001? Can it be true? For the sole purpose of chatting? No way!

It's true. Kevin's 5-node BBS was in full swing tonight. It was great to be able to chat with some old friends, including Ken who has since gotten married (4 years ago!) and moved to Singapore.

Flashbacks… Text scrolled up my screen rapidly and I had a hard time keeping up. (I'm terribly out of practice. Speed reading, multi-tasking and typing at incredible rates of speed were my specialty back in the day.) Now I can barely keep up with a chatroom conversation with 5 users.

Where is that 2400 baud modem when you need it? Aye carumba.

Twilight. I worked late tonight, having closed up shop close to 7:30 pm. There are a couple of nice things about working late: it's nice and quiet and you can actually get work done and there's no traffic on the way home. I love driving home at twilight when the sky is a deep blue, dark puffy clouds dot the sky and streetlights in the distance twinkle like a thousand stars. There's something simply liberating and relaxing about being able to drive home a few modest miles over the speed limit without worrying about hitting a parking lot on the freeway. I enjoy driving, but don't care much for driving in stop-and-go traffic with my stick shift. However, when I can drive on a free-flowing highway at twilight, I feel simply content.

Otaku. I just watched Jackie Chan's Legend of the Drunken Master movie on pay-per-view tonight. I had forgotten just how much I loved Jackie Chan movies and how awesome he is with his stunts and kung fu prowess.

My adoration of Jackie Chan has been renewed with even greater fervor! Won't Hubby love it when he sees that I now have a Jackie Chan wallpaper on our Windows desktop as well as a nifty Jackie Chan screensaver? ha ha! Jackie Chan Otaku fever is back!
