Being the day before the long weekend, Arnold gave everyone the option to take off 1/2 day today. Needless to say, everyone took him up on it -- except me. I'm holding down the fort. I would've jumped at the chance to start my 3-day weekend early, but since we're going out with Michelle tonight for dinner, I figured I might as well work.... then next week, I'll take my 1/2 day off, thank-you-very-much.
So hopefully, it'll be a quiet afternoon. With my luck, the phones will be ringing off the hook and Help Desk calls will start coming in. Hopefully everyone else had the same idea and took off early. Besides, who can get any work done the day before a 3-day weekend? Especially New Year's weekend?
Well, I'm going to attempt to get more work done today. After all, it was an extremely productive morning, despite my earlier grouchiness resulting from Stupid Drivers(tm). Maybe I can actually check off all of the items on my To-Do list that were slated for today. Just maybe...

Tailgaters Suck Encountered 3 tailgaters today that insisted on riding my bumper along the roadways. (At separate times, mind you.) I drove through the gates of our secured parking lot and encountered another one, riding my tail all the way until I found a parking space. After she parked a few spaces away from me, she gets out of her car and looks at me like I'm an idiot driver or something. Heck, I wasn't driving that slow. Dangit, it's a parking lot. You're not supposed to be going 50 mph. This pisses me off. I hate it when my day starts like this. It just sets the tone for the whole day.
The thing that bothers me is that I don't drive like an old lady. If there's a car in front of me, there's little that I can do to go faster. It's called traffic. Deal with it. The fact is, tailing me will not make me go faster. In fact, if you tail me, I'm liable to go slower -- much slower. On purpose.
Anyway, that's how my day started. Let's hope the rest of it doesn't aggravate me, or else I'll have to take time out for a chocolate binge or something.
Good stinkin' morning.

Walking Progress According to my pedometer: Distance: 2.01 miles Steps: 4556 Calories burned: 132.01
Well, time to go replenish some of those lost calories (and then some) at lunch. It's turkey day today!

Missions (somewhat) Accomplished Did a couple loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom, and walked the dog 1.58 miles (didn't wash him, though). I still have much more to do, but I felt the need to just sit here and take a breather. After all, I'm supposed to be relaxing today ... or something. Also on the agenda: bill payments, checkbook balancing, vacuuming, and dinner. See you a bit later. Got some pictures of my cute widdle niece to share from today's shopping adventure.

Just got back from shopping with Mom-in-law and my niece. Now it's time to tackle the mountain of laundry, the housework and dog bathing. Yay... do I really have to go back to work tomorrow already???

Coloring Book Here's a novel idea. I printed black & white clipart images (DJ Inkers) for the kids so that they can do some coloring (and hopefully stay quiet) at tonight's party. We'll see if this ploy works...

Men are just big boys Let's just face it. Men will never grow up. They are just big boys. The sooner I realize this, the sooner I will stop getting frustrated. *sigh*

Mmm! Mmm! Good! :) Julie's Pound Cake and Party Mix is oh-so-yummy! I was almost tempted to eat it all myself and not share...but then again, that wouldn't be living in the spirit of Christmas. So, guess what I ate for breakfast today....? :)
