Alan Wong's.
Dad-in-law's
birthday is in two days, so the family decided to go to Alan
Wong's to celebrate.
Thumbs up on
the restaurant. I highly recommend it. While a bit on the pricey
side, I believe that it was worth every penny. The food was
delicious (although the portions are quite small, if you're a
big eater) and the service was impeccable.
I measure the
quality of service by how full they can keep my water glass or
how often they come back to refill my iced tea. Well, let's just
say that I never hit the bottom of my glass of iced tea last
night. The servers are extremely attentive and Hubby even
commented that he could feel them observing us.
Hubby:
I could
feel them watching us all night. Like when they brought us our
food, they were watching our faces. If we made a funny face,
they'd come over right away and ask if everything was OK and if
the food tasted alright.
Me: Yeah,
did you see how they descended upon me when that beer spilled in
my lap? They all came out of nowhere.
A little
accident occurred involving an adorable little baby
(Lexis), a glass of beer, and my lap. You should have seen the
waiters flock to my aid, offering napkins and asking me if I was
alright. I think there were three or four of them there.
Instantly. Almost before I realized what that wet sensation was
on my lap. Napkins and concerned looks came at me from every
direction.
One waiter even
jokingly offered to wash my skirt for me if I would take it off.
Sure, I'll just wear some napkins in the meantime. I had enough
of them by the time they were done with me.
It was pretty
humorous, but it only further testifies to how attentive they
were to what was going on at our table. I think we must've
had three servers and a manager assigned to our party of
sixteen.
It seemed that
Dad-in-law enjoyed his birthday with the family. We certainly
enjoyed it.
Happy
Birthday, Dad! We're looking forward to celebrating many more
with you!

A few photos
and some light commentary are below...
Ginger
Crusted Onaga. Mmmmm... yummy! This is what I ordered for
dinner tonight and it was delicious. I highly recommend it.
Hubby's
Dessert which I can't remember the name to. I also ordered
dessert, but his was much more interesting to look at. On the top
of those bars of chocolately goodness was an edible basket
made of caramelized sugar which held berries and mint leaves.
Ryan
& Rachel. It's hard to imagine that when Hubby and I first
started dating that Ryan was only about 4 years old and Rachel
was just a baby. Now they're all grown up! My, how time flies...
The
next generation. Lexis, Piikea and Pililani (not pictured),
the next generation of nieces. We're hoping to bring them a
playmate soon. Hoping. Praying. Soon.
