A trip to the Big Island of Hawaii was just what the doctor ordered for my frayed nerves and anxious spirit. A retreat to someplace quiet, where inner peace could be restored and romance rekindled. Instead of staying in a fancy-shmancy hotel, we opted for the quaint Kilauea Military Camp within the confines of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The brisk, cool mornings and the absolute silence of the evenings was just what I needed. Hubby and I spent a lot of time outdoors hiking and looking for "photo ops." We even got to catch a glimpse of live lava. Join me on our adventure and see the sights through the lens of my trusty Canon G3 digicam and experience the magic of our weekend getaway. The photos are not in any particular order and I may or may not make comments on each of the photos, as oftentimes photos speak for themselves... as the old cliché goes: a picture is worth a thousand words. Enjoy!
